Decided to start a "Runway Feature" segment to showcase some of the runway collections that caught my eye. While runway clothing is way out of reach for most of us, take home some style tips on how to dress runway worthy. That is tyhe beauty of fashion.
My favorite runway labels has got to be Elie Saab, Valentino, 3.1 Phillip Lim, alice + olivia, Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa, though each season some collections just blows me away.
The Pre-Fall 2014 collections are fresh out of the oven and Akris was one of the first couple of shows I was looking through. The looks, mostly of Parisian vibes, point towards art and architecture, which served as the inspiration for designer, Albert Kreimler.
The first look of the collection was what appears to be a tweed A-line dress. Not exactly sure if the piece wrapped around the model's neck is a tweed scarf, but it sure adds to the look, making it more Parisian, alongside the beret and shoes of the similar pattern.
I absolutely LOVE cropped pants. This tweed piece is so easy to wear, it polishes up any thing worn above it.
A monochromatic oxblood look with finely made separates, which will be so easy to wear with other items in your closet. The nude pumps tie the look together.
Everyone needs a great knitted sweater for winter. This sweater featured in this outfit is of a gorgeous and most versatile color. The nude pumps ties the look together in a subtle manner.
Grey is the new black, and your new wardrobe best friend. You will never go wrong with this color which is a fresh alternative to black but more mysterious than white and nude. Incorporating different (or 50) shades of grey adds interest. Don't neglect the details, like the faux fur collar, thin leather belt and a little tote bag for your daily essentials.
A full-white outfit can look effortlessly posh. Just stick to a clean silhouettes and add chic extras like a printed scarf and beret to complete the look.
A great pant suit is strong yet not over-powering in a classic shade of grey. Each piece on this look is well-structured, any woman will look smart in this androgynous get-up. The oxblood beret and nude pumps complete the look with a touch of femininity without breaking up the lines.
