Day 1 began with the couple landing in Singapore Changi Airport's VIP Terminal, and a straight trip down to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Duchess Kate appeared wearing a nude-colored dress with all-over orchid patterns designed by British designer Jenny Packham. The three-quarter sleeved dress was matched with off-white pumps by L.K. Bennett and a classy hard-case long clutch.
The lovely pair took some time to view the orchids named after William's mother, Princess Diana, then moved on to sign a certificate to have another orchid hybrid named after themselves - Vanda William Catherine.
In the evening, Duchess Kate changed into a beautifully-designed dress by Singapore-born and Nepal-raised , up-and-rising designer Prabal Gurung. Paired with trusty black pumps and her Anya Hindmarch "Maud" clutch, Kate looked every bit elegant at the State Dinner held at the Istana, hosted by the President of Singapore, Tony Tan. I couldn't resist posting pictures of the dashing Prince William inspecting the guards.
The print of the Spring 2012 Collection dress was inspired by Araki's sensual flowers series and was produced alongside a printmaker in London (more about the collection on style.com).
With the same outfit, a visit to the Rolls-Royce Seletar Plant followed after, where Kate did the honors of fitting the last fan blade to the engine for a double-decker Airbus A380. I'm so glad she still has a great sense of humor (see second picture below)!
The housing estate of Queenstown, Strathmore Green in particular was next in line on their busy schedule. The Duchess wore a two-piece outfit by local brand Raoul, along with her nude pumps. Such a wise choice in the sweltering heat (Mind you, some people fainted in the heat while awaiting their arrival!). Not forgetting the Prince looking dapper in his slightly dressed-down suit, minus the tie. THEY ARE SO STUNNING.
Subsequently, the couple paid a visit to the Rainbow Centre for disabled and autistic children.
